Dr. Randy Fowler

Jamie, I want to thank you and your team for the great work you are doing with Unique Student Ministries.

Our church was blessed this summer (2013) because you arranged for the four youth groups to come to Broadway and minister in our church and community. They were fantastic. The four groups were not acquainted when they arrive, but they quickly merged into one group. Together, they shared meals, sleeping arrangements, and the ministries. It is also important to note that they left the gym, the kitchen, and the rooms where they slept in better a condition than when they arrived. That really impressed our custodial and cleaning staff.

The primary ministry of the groups was to help us conduct Vacation Bible School for the kids who attend the church and for kids who live in the community. We had approximately 80 kids from the community, who attended. We had a written follow up with each kid who attended. Four kids have since visited our Sunday service with their family. Two have also gotten involved with our week day activities.

Again thank you for arranging for these youth groups to come and minister in our church and community during Unique Week 2013.

We Must Be Missional Living

We must be “missional living…”
Aaron Morales

Unite, unify, unleash.

Many are waiting to change the world, but Jesus is calling you to change your world. We may never get the opportunity to go on a mission trip or help someone on the other side of the world, but God has called us to impact the world around us.

Someone once asked, “If Jesus was physically here on earth, where would He spend the majority of His time?”

As much as I would love to pretend He would be doing a lot of what I’m doing, involved heavily with Church, I believe He would spend the majority of time not in church but with those outside the church.

It is time we not only attend church but also actually be the church of Jesus Christ.

Don’t get me wrong there is absolutely nothing wrong with coming together, I believe it is powerful to unite & unify for the Gospel-sake but unless we unleash that power it will all be in vain.

Jesus gives us two main commands in Scripture that are linked and should mold not only our lives but also the world around us:

The first command is “follow me”- we must establish that He did not say, “come and listen to me” but FOLLOW ME. Christ doesn’t just want us to gather in a building called church but to actually follow His footsteps and live out being the church.

Second He commands us to “go”- If Jesus Himself said, “I came to seek and & find that which is lost,” where do you think God’s heart is for us to GO? As we follow the very steps of Jesus we are going to those who are lost in need of Him.

We must know that Christ established His church to turn the world upside down, for an invasion into the world instead of waiting for an evacuation from the world around us. For such a time as this has the Lord called and prepared us- to not only be different from the world but also make a difference in the world.

Many are waiting to change the world, but Jesus is calling you to change your world. We may never get the opportunity to go on a mission trip or help someone on the other side of the world, but God has called us to impact the world around us.

Everything begins with “follow me,” and is completed with “go”

Our prayer is that you will join us with Missions at Unique Week this Summer.

This is my thought on the conference. As an attendee, USM never ceases to amaze me. The worship bands are filled with the spirit, the speakers are filled with compassion, and the messages are always hard to swallow because they are so straight to the truth. You guys are doing an amazing job with the help of our Lord Jesus Christ…may He continue to lead you according to His will. God bless.

Thank You for Serving

We had over 1,800 in attendance at the 2012 Unique Week Conference.

There were 21 churches from out of Houston that participated in Unique Missions impacting inner-city communities with evangelism and ministry projects. There were 107 salvations, 26 rededications, and 80 called to the ministry at the 2012 Unique Week Conference.

Unique Student Ministries outreach program has impacted the lives of many young people over the years. The impact is not only during the summer conference, but throughout the year with mission opportunities, discipleship, and a mentoring program for future leaders in our communities and churches.

Many were truly blessed in seeing God’s provision through ministries and individuals who served this summer.
Thank you for being a part of this vision and for partnering with us in making a difference in the lives of inner-city congregations and communities.

Serving you,

Ana Christina – A Grateful Heart

Sitting here just thinking about this past weekend. Words cannot express how overwhelmingly blessed I am and feel at the moment. I am blessed with an AMAZING church and friends and family, my aunts are beyond wonderful, I have the freedom to express my love for Christ without persecution, I have a roof over my head and a warm bed to lay in, I have a reunited family and only through Christ did that happen, I have a job, I have my needs met every day, only because God loves me. He allowed me to wake up another day. And said “try again” and yet again we seem to fail and He still loves us the same.

This past weekend was a blessing in itself and God never seizes to amaze me, that is how it should be every single day, because God’s vastness is so great that those who truly love him should never get bored with him. Every single day there is more to learn, every single day there is more and more of God. Every single day, as He lets you rise again, take that opportunity and live like he has called you to live, it is easy to live in the word and be part of it, I challenge you to be in the world, but NOT OF THE WORLD and be SET APART.
